The Community Perinatal Network (CPN) was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1989 for the purpose of promoting optimal perinatal care for patients and families. Our efforts to achieve this purpose involve the facilitation of enhanced communication and coordination among agencies, organizations and providers of perinatal health services and, to the extent possible, through identifying and addressing unmet perinatal healthcare needs.
CPN is committed to the development, acquisition, and dissemination of the latest research, practice guidelines, and standards of care affecting the perinatal population. As such, we continuously seek opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders in all areas of perinatal health to include local, state, and national government, and health advocacy groups to ensure the highest quality care is available and provided to the perinatal patient.
We are proud of our accomplishments and serve in leadership capacities in areas of maternal and neonatal care, to include the management of statewide perinatal transport programs, the development of neonatal transport data systems, exciting new work around risk appropriate maternal levels of care, and a long history of providing professional health education to providers in the community.

To reduce morbidity and mortality by promoting optimal care for patients and their families through identification and implementation of quality improvement activities, professional education and training, research, and enhanced communication and coordination among agencies, organizations and providers of health services.
Our Goals
- Promote an integrated regional maternal and infant perinatal system for high quality, risk appropriate care for pregnant women and high risk infants.
- Promote hospital based, data driven quality improvement projects.
- Promote the safe and timely interfacility transport of critically ill neonates.
- Establish Risk Appropriate Maternal Care standards for the State of California.
